Chess Sets – Part 2.

Well here is my basic, run-of-the-mill roll up set, green and white, with double weighted pieces, 3-3/4″ King. I have a couple of these sets. One of them I’ve had for many years, the other I purchased recently from the Ebay store of ND ChessNuts Chess Club. Here’s the club website. One of them I gave to my youngest niece Danielle when her interest in Chess took off. The double weighted pieces make it more difficult for cats to knock over, by the way, but Danielle has observed that the boards seem to make a comfortable bed for Gilbert.

Chess Sets – Part 1.

I have several Chess sets, some since the 70’s, when I was a teen. Here’s my latest acquisition. It’s very similar, if not exactly molded after the patriotic glass set referred to in yesterday’s post. A glass table with frosted and clear squares, and frosted/clear glass pieces. The board measures approx 10 inches square. Not a lot of quality to it, but hey, it was an impulse purchase for $5 – I couldn’t pass up a set at that price. I picked it up a few months ago.
