Girls Chess Team at Edward R. Murrow High School.

This is the second year of competition for the Edward R. Murrow Girls Chess team at the Super Nationals in Dallas.  Under the tutelage of coach Eliot Weiss,  they placed 4th the the first time around,  and improved to come back this year and finish a respectable 3rd place.

Edward R. Murrow HS is the subject of the book “The Kings of New York” by Michael Weinreb.  The book follows the dramatic success of the Chess team, and gives a good history of The Game in New York City.
