Pawned! 400!
Here it is – wow – the 400th post on Pawned!
I’ve always loved the game of Chess, and always will. Having said that, and with this post, I will now bid a fond Adieu to Pawned!, as this will be my final post to this weblog. It was a great learning experience for me. I started it in 2006 as a homage to the great game, as well as an experiment in social networking and search engine optimization. It served well, and a lot of comments were gathered from fellow Chess enthusiasts as well as those new to the Game.
My many thanks to the regulars on Youtube who provided the material for comment. Among those: Bobbydigital80 for the Carlini Files series, Jrobichess for his excellent video series, Lyricalswords for providing coverage of events over at the Hip Hop Chess Federation (special thanks to Adisa Banjoko and The Real Bobby Digital for their insight – children are the future, Chess can be used as a critical thinking skills tool, and these guys prove it out!), and of course the contributors of all those great videos of kids playing chess!
And I cannot forget to thank the other Chess web bloggers who I corresponded with over the last few years. You guys are standouts in the chess blogging world, and provided me a lot of insight, and good laughs at times. Included are: Confessions of a Chess Novice, Chessloser, Chess Goddess, Dr. Mark Ginsburg, and Likesforest.
Time must be spent wisely, and on things much larger than myself. Faith, Family, Career, and Writing are foremost on the list. Follow me on Twitter if you like – always glad to hear from fellow Chess-nuts!
So with that, I say farewell to Pawned!, and keep on playing… Rich
